STAR HINT OF THE MONTH
Dear Miss Holliday
If two of you are travelling together, pack two
smaller suitcases rather than one large shared
piece of luggage. You can split your clothes
between the two cases and the benefit is two-fold,
not only will you both have some clothes if one of
your suitcases goes missing enroute to your holiday
destination, but you will also avoid possible excess
weight charges for one heavy suitcase!
Helen, Bristol

Dear Holly
With all the confusion about liquids when
travelling by air it is worth saving magazine
give-away make-up and cosmetic sachets
for your hand luggage. This saves the
problem of them being confiscated and
they're nice and light.
Prue Lightfoot, London

Dear Holly
After a well earned holiday what
you don't need is the hassle of
unpacking all that dirty washing and
spending hours by the front-loader
when you get home. Take it in to a
laundrette in your holiday resort the
day before going home for service
wash. You then have lovely clean
holiday wear already for your next
holiday.

Hi Holly
Always carry a packet of baby wipes with you, even if dont have a baby! Great for making you feel fresher, for cleaning hands, removing make-up and dealing with minor spills at the dining table!
Maggie Shakespeare, Nottingham

Dear Miss Holliday
Remove the identification sticker that is attached to you once an excursion has finished as you are less likely to be identified as a tourist and a target for theft.

Hi Holly,
Fed up with paying £2 for a cup of tea on cheapskate
airlines? Pack some tea bags in your purse (yes
they are that precious) and ask for a large cup of
very HOT water. Then take some vital, anti DVT
exercise and ask for milk at the galley. Sorted !!!

Hi Holly
My holiday hint is this: When travelling to New York I packed old clothes in my case knowing I was buying a new wardrobe of clothes when I arrived.
When I had made my purchases, I dumped the old clothes in bins around the Big Apple - therefore, not exceeding my baggage allowance on the way home.

Dear Holly
I am about to go on holiday to a villa in
Spain and wonder if you can tell me,
is it safe to boil my breakfast eggs in the
tap water – or should I use bottled water?
Confused, Egg-Head, Clapham

Dear Holly
Last year I went to Ireland on holiday and stayed in a beautiful manor in Adare – however, I suffer terribly with cold feet and whilst the flagstone floors looked beautiful, they played havoc with my tootsies. This year I have decided to go somewhere slightly warmer and plumped for Cyprus. Can you tell me, do the hotels in Cyprus have carpet or tiled flooring? Do I need to pack my slippers?
Mr Cornell, Hampshire

Dear Miss Holliday
I am planning to take my mother on holiday to Egypt this year but I am worried how she will cope in the Souks and Markets in Cairo. She is not used to bargaining and I think she will end up paying over the odds for items that take her fancy. Any advice?
Mr Cantanker, Brighton

Dear H
How can I get two evening dresses, five pairs of shoes, a hairdryer, straighteners, shampoo, conditioner, frizzee bed-head treatment, a jacket, cardigan, assorted underwear, swimwear,
shorts, trousers, skirts (3), sundress,
sarong, facial products, plasters,
headache tablets, barocca, vitamins,
hairbrush, t-shirts, jeans, suncream,
2 handbags, camera, video camera,
diary, i-pod and scissors into my
suitcase for my weekend away to
Barcelona with my boyfriend.
Miss V Pax, Lytham-St-Annes
