Thanks to the 71,367 households who voted in this year’s British Travel Awards - casting over 700,000 votes for the companies nominated in the BTA 2011 - we have now released the results of these important travel industry accolades.
The votes were audited by Deloitte and represent and true and accurate account of UK consumer opinion on travel and tourism companies and attractions.
Our media partners, sponsors and supporters - as well as the nominees - twittered, face-booked, promoted and featured the voting process for the awards this year, to ensure as many consumers as possible got to know that they could have their say on which companies, destinations and holiday styles they like best about the UK travel industry.
Award categories included everything from best UK/domestic holiday companies and destinations, leisure attractions and hotels to car hire. European and long-haul holiday operators, online booking sites and travel information publications, cruise lines, airlines, airports and foreign exchange providers.
Thanks to the fantastic year-on-year response from UK holidaymakers and leisure travellers, the British Travel Awards is acknowledged as the most definitive and largest monitor of public opinion on travel and tourism industry performance.
As it is you the consumer who finally determines the winners, these prestigious awards are the most sought after accolades for any travel company. Your views are at the very heart of the awards programme. Your votes reward the companies that have met or exceeded your expectations.
